The Lord gave us a safe trip there and back and we are so thankful for that!
We left early Friday morning, arriving in Omaha around 7pm Friday night. Our kids did GREAT! They started melting down once we got into Nebraska, but hey, they'd been in the car for 10 hours, I wanted to melt down too. :) Once we got to our room at the hotel, they got all of their energy out. They ran and ran around that room probably for at least 30 minutes. I wanted to stop them at first, and then I realized that they really needed to do it.
When we arrived and got settled in, my dad informed me that my Grandma was not going to be making the wedding because my aunt had taken her to the ER. So, my grandma was in the hospital all weekend. That was a bummer, the whole weekend would have drained her, so as much as I know she wanted to be involved, it would probably done her more harm. That's my opinion anyway. She go to meet my family Sunday afternoon, we spent just a few minutes with her. It's been 9 years since I'd seen her. It was good.
Saturday was the wedding day. My kids made it through the bride walking down the aisle before we had to make our exit. The wedding was during nap time, and the way the first part of the day went didn't leave room to nap before hand. I think too, Hannah had different expectations of what a wedding would be like. So the kids got to go outside, it was beautiful there, and run around in the grass and play, It was cool. :) After the ceremony I got to meet family members that I hadn't seen since I was little, that was neat. We had a three hour break between the end of the ceremony and the reception, so we did get to go rest at the hotel before party time.
The reception was BEAUTIFUL!!! The food was good, and we got to dance for a little bit before the kids were ready to done. We left a little after 9 and went back and went to bed.
Sunday morning we slept in and didn't make it to church. Our kids needed that sleep, so I'm thankful for it, bummed that we didn't make it to that service, but thankful fur the rest. Sunday evening we went to my Aunt Judi's house and had dinner and hung out for a while. It was good.
We got back late got packed up and went to bed. We left out of Omaha at 5:30am yesterday morning. It was a long drive back, but again, the Lord kept us safe. We got back home at 6:30 lat night.
And when we got home, wouldn't you know it, our A/C had gone out at sometime while we were gone and had been blowing hot air. It was HOT. lol! great. :) The maintenance guy came and fixed it last night. It was still VERY hot. I think it finally cooled off in here sometime in the middle of the night. We all slept downstairs, had a family slumber party, because it is cooler down here.
It was a very hard weekend. I left out a lot of stuff due to feelings and thoughts going on in my heart and mind that I feel inappropriate to share on a blog. I'm going to have to make some hard decisions soon, and have some hard conversations. But! God is still good and gracious, and I am thankful to Him for the good times that we did have, and for the very safe journey. !!!
I didn't take a lot of pictures, but I'll post some of the one's that are cute later on. :)
"Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways." James 1:1-8
